MEET ARDIS MAYO, Author & Soul Care Advocate

Be all you were created to be!

Ardis Mayo

As a writer and soul care advocate, I aim to help you live the best life possible as you age. I bring you reflections, inspiration, and encouragement to live your life fully despite any setbacks and challenges of aging.

My writing is for you if you want to live fully in mind, body, and spirit while enjoying the journey as you grow into the last third of your life. I have been shaped by many failures, losses, and new beginnings in every area, including health, family, faith, and fortune.

My muse speaks to me from the center of scenic Maine, where I live with my service dog, Dekker, who has been known to add his canine reflections to my blog “TheReflectivePen”

Is writing calling to you,
but you don’t know where to begin?

I know that feeling so well!! I could write once I got started, but I needed something to prime the well. Having a topic is fine, but can result in a rather academic approach to writing based on research. Knowing who will receive your writing results in letters or emails, but how exactly do you start with a blank sheet of paper?

An unfinished sentence, or an image that invites your mind to remember a scene or describe a character. Any of these can be a jumping-off point that inspires you to write one sentence.

And another….and another.

This is exactly how I began to write years ago. Because I know the value of that first sentence…and how hard it can be, I started The Reflective Collective group on FaceBook.
